Personal History Toval comes from a political family. His grandfather on his mother's side was a prominent politician in the times of Captain Archer. However, after his death, the family's political influence and public perception wanned. Toval's mother was betrothed to Yurok, a stern, excentric Vulcan writer who is famous for his un-Vulcan like ways of behavior. Being a lover of history and the arts of Vulcan, he took his views on logic very seriously. So, whenever he openly supported the logic of Ambassador Spock's call for Reunification, he was disgraced to many in the eyes of the public. Instead of backtrack on his position, he became more stubborn on the issue. This became a serious problem for all who called him friend. All distanced themselves from him, besides one. Herok, Toval's great uncle who sat on the Vulcan High Council. For defending his niece's husband, he was expelled in disgrace as a Romulan sympathizer, even a spy for refusing to condemn Yurok. This culminated with the disappearance of Toval's father. His mother refuses to speak to anyone on the matter, having gone cold and isolated, blaming the Romulans for the misfortunes befallen her husband. Because of this, Toval went to be raised as a young man by his uncle Herok, who taught him how to use logic as well as empathy to read the actions of others. His father's disappearance sparked an interest in solving mysteries and using logic as a form of deduction. Having joined Starfleet at his uncle's encouragement, He was commissioned to StarFleet Intelligence where he studied social behavior, psycology, and advanced deduction. He eventually applied for a deep space assignment aboard a Starship after a decade taking assignments on core planets as an onsite counselor. He felt that the Final Frontier is the place where his mix of logic and empathy would be the most helpful to the men and women of StarFleet. He also desires a true challenge and dreams of the opportunity so solve "the perfect crime."
